Green Liveable City

Digital

Exhibition

Interior

“Green Liveable City” is a bold reimagining of what an educational exhibition can be – transforming static displays into a dynamic and immersive journey that inspires, educates and empowers. Set within Hong Kong’s City Gallery and designed by OVAL Design for the Planning Department of HKSAR, the project invites young minds to explore how cities can grow sustainably while protecting the environment we all share.

At its heart, the exhibition is a playful and interactive city built for learning by doing. Visitors are drawn into a vibrant narrative that unfolds across themed zones – from designing their own “15-minute Neighbourhood” to discovering how “Blue-Green Infrastructure” protects against flooding and climate change. Treehouse-themed installations, sound-based biodiversity games and a collaborative digital mural bring abstract sustainability concepts to life in creative and hands-on ways.

The excitement doesn’t end with the content – it’s embedded in the design itself. Everything from the modular, recycled-material displays to the energy-efficient lighting and smart technologies reflects real-world sustainable practices. Each element has been thoughtfully crafted not only to teach but to be a part of the lesson.

What makes “Green Liveable City” truly special is its power to turn visitors, especially children and teens, into active participants and future leaders. It sparks curiosity, ignites imagination and encourages critical thinking about the kind of world we want to live in.

This is more than an exhibition. It’s an invitation to co-create a greener, smarter and liveable future; and the journey starts here.
