Historical Display Corner at HK Electric Centre
Digital
Exhibition
To celebrate 135 years of powering Hong Kong, OVAL was commissioned to design and build the HK Electric 135th Anniversary Historical Corner at the Hongkong Electric Centre. This project transforms a limited transitional space into a dynamic exhibition that honours HK Electric’s rich heritage.
Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a stainless-steel display wall featuring a curated collection of the company’s milestone objects, ranging from iconic streetlamps to archival documents. The journey continues to the five interactive multimedia kiosks, allowing visitors to explore the company’s history in depth. The technological highlight is the integration of 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS), a technique used to preserve and recreate hyper-detailed artifacts in an interactive format.
Throughout the space, programmed lighting is seamlessly embedded within the wall surfaces, creating a visual rhythm that echoes the theme of “tradition meets technology”. The exhibition not only represents HK Electric’s enduring role in illuminating the city but also demonstrates our expertise in creating sophisticated and immersive storytelling.
